HOLY WEEK
Holy Week
Holy Week is one of the most sacred and spiritually significant periods in the Christian calendar, commemorating the passion, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Beginning with Palm Sunday and culminating in Easter Sunday, Holy Week invites the faithful to reflect deeply on Christ’s sacrifice, love, humility, and victory over death.
Throughout the week, church members gather for special prayers, liturgical services, processions, and devotional activities that help believers journey spiritually with Christ. Palm Sunday is a significant day in the Christian calendar that marks the beginning of Holy Week, the final week leading up to Easter. Maundy Thursday commemorates the Last Supper and the institution of the Holy Eucharist, while Good Friday is observed with solemn prayers and remembrance of Christ’s crucifixion. The week concludes joyfully with Easter Sunday celebrations, marking the resurrection of Jesus Christ and the triumph of hope and eternal life.
Holy Week also serves as a time for repentance, fasting, charity, and strengthening one’s faith through prayer and community worship. Families and parish members come together in unity and devotion, making it a meaningful period of spiritual renewal and reflection for the entire church community.
