ONAM AT CHURCH
Onam At Church
Onam celebration at the church is a vibrant and culturally rich event that brings together parish members to honor the traditional festival of Onam in a spirit of unity, equality, and joy. Rooted in the values of harmony and togetherness, the celebration reflects the essence of Onam, where everyone gathers as one community without distinction.
Members participate enthusiastically by wearing traditional Onam attire, with men in white mundu and women in elegant kasavu sarees, adding a festive and cultural charm to the occasion. The celebration is further enriched with a grand Onam Sadhya, a traditional feast served on banana leaves featuring a variety of authentic Kerala dishes that everyone enjoys together.
The event also includes fun-filled Onam games and activities such as Vadamvali (tug of war), musical chairs, and other traditional competitions that encourage participation from all age groups. These games bring excitement, laughter, and friendly competition, strengthening the bond among parish members.
Beyond the festivities, the Onam celebration at church highlights the values of equality, community spirit, and cultural heritage. It provides an opportunity for members to come together, celebrate their roots, and create joyful memories in a warm and inclusive environment.
